Crina Baltag, Member of the Executive Committee at the Rising Arbitrators Initiative (RAI) and Associate Professor (Docent) in International Arbitration at Stockholm University speaks to Ann Ryan Robertson, 2021 Global President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in the next episode of the RAI’s “Interview the Institution” Series.

In this engaging talk with Crina, Ann reflects on CIArb’s efforts over the years to support the global promotion, facilitation and development of all ADR methods. She discusses the various resources available to CIArb members such as guidance, support, advice, networking and promotional opportunities as well as the benefits for young(er) arbitration practitioners to join CIArb’s membership program. Ann notes CIArb’s continued efforts to provide education and training for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators as well as its commitment to develop and support an inclusive global community of diverse dispute resolvers. In her advice to upcoming arbitrators, Ann urges candidates to “become known” by being pro-active and creating opportunities for themselves through publishing articles, attending conferences, joining organizations and working as adjunct professors.
